How to Train a Chatbot on Your Website Content (Without Code)

A step-by-step guide to building a website-trained AI chatbot in under 10 minutes, with no engineering required.

You don't need an engineer to train a chatbot on your website. The whole job is: (1) point a tool at your site, (2) review what it learned, (3) embed the widget. Here's the version that takes under 10 minutes with PageBot.

Step 1 — Paste your URL

When you submit a URL, PageBot looks for your sitemap.xml automatically. If it finds one, it crawls every page (up to your plan's limit) and extracts FAQ content from JSON-LD, accordion blocks, and definition lists. No sitemap? It just trains the page you gave it.

Step 2 — Watch the progress bar

You'll see a live count: "Training 12 of 47 pages — 25%". Each page is chunked, embedded, and stored against your bot. Most sites finish in under five minutes.

Step 3 — Test in the playground

Ask the questions your customers actually ask, not the ones you think they ask. Watch what the bot answers, what it gets wrong, and what it can't find. If a question isn't covered, the unanswered queue tells you exactly what to add.

Step 4 — Add gaps with Q&A or files

For things that aren't on your site (refund edge cases, pricing nuance, internal docs), add a few Q&A pairs or upload a PDF. PageBot blends those with the website training automatically.

Step 5 — Embed the widget

Copy a one-line script tag into your site's footer. Done. The widget inherits your colors and shows the bot you just trained.
